Coveney is an old Fenland village some five miles from Ely, with a population of approximately 240 in 1998.
It is set along a low ridge overlooking the Fens, and there are extensive views towards Ely and the Cathedral from along the eastern side of Main Street. The village has a bus service on Thursdays only.
It is an agricultural village, at least as far as one can be these days. There are at least five working farmyards in the village.
Public buildings include the church, which dates from the 13th Century, the chapel (19th Century), and the village hall (1960s).
